Position Updates

Aircraft positions refresh as new transponder observations arrive.

Route Context

Origin and destination are shown only when route enrichment is available and geographically plausible.

Flight Telemetry

Inspect current position, altitude, speed, heading and data freshness.

Radar position and airline status are different signals

A live ADS-B position confirms where a transmitting aircraft was recently observed; it does not by itself confirm an airline's gate, delay or cancellation status. PocketWorld combines available callsign, route and telemetry fields, marks stale observations, and leaves unavailable schedule fields unknown instead of inventing them.

Use the aircraft timestamp and source label to judge freshness. Callsigns can differ from ticketed flight numbers, route metadata can be incomplete, and aircraft without a usable public position will not appear. For authoritative departure, arrival, gate or cancellation information, check the operating airline or airport.

The map is most useful for understanding the latest available position and surrounding traffic. It is not an airline operations system and should not be used for connection, boarding or safety decisions.

Aviation data sources

Live positions are aggregated from OpenSky Network and community ADS-B providers. Coverage, update intervals and route metadata vary by aircraft and region.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a flight?

Open the flight tracker and search by callsign or flight number. A flight appears only while an active public provider reports it.

Does PocketWorld show gates, cancellations or official schedule status?

No. PocketWorld currently shows live tracking observations and available route context, not authoritative airline operations or gate assignments.
