Keep the provider's message intact
“Unavailable in your location,” “sign in” and a generic playback failure describe different situations. Record the exact message and the official service you were trying to use. Do not infer that a channel is permanently offline merely because your connection was refused. Conversely, a working preview does not establish access to every program. A country label in PocketWorld describes catalog geography; it does not grant distribution rights.
Rules can differ within one broadcaster
PBS explains local live-stream access separately from on-demand viewing. Radio-Canada also distinguishes its Canada-only OHdio music playlists from other content. These examples show why “this brand works abroad” is too broad a conclusion. Read the guidance for the exact service, format and device, and consult it again when access conditions change.
Use a decision sequence, not repeated guesses
- Identify the service and whether you opened a live channel, playlist or episode.
- Read the broadcaster's current geographic and account conditions.
- If you are eligible but see a location error, use its official troubleshooting guidance.
- If the error gives no cause, compare the official player and preserve the result as an observation, not a diagnosis.
A provider can also misidentify geography. That possibility is not evidence that every refusal is a mistake. Keep your VPN and privacy preferences under your own control; this guide does not ask you to spoof a location, bypass a paywall or disable security. Use an authorized alternative when the service is not offered to you.
What the directory can and cannot establish
PocketWorld can organize available metadata and attempt supported public playback. It cannot expand the broadcaster's permitted audience or guarantee that a past health check predicts your result. Report a persistently incorrect record with its public title, link and symptom, without account or network secrets. When discussing the issue with another listener, say “unavailable from my setup at this time” unless the official provider has supplied a broader explanation. This keeps a local observation from becoming an unsupported claim about an entire channel or country.
